چکیده
Length-Weight relationship in adult (one year old) Heteropneustes fossilis collected from culture pond of Batiaghata Khulna Bangladesh was conducted during 1 June, 2007 to 2 July, 2007. The overall sex ratio male female 1: 0.98. total length recorded cm and the weight individuals measured by means a sensitive (3 decimal places) electric balance g. indicated that fish is directly related with species. A significant length-weight found for combined (R2 = 0.943), 0.789) 0.939) respect This they are positively correlated. peak condition factor (K) value at (5.09±0.526), (6.138±.0.60) (5.77±0.40) 17-18.9cm, 11.5-12.4cm 15.5-16.9 relative (Kn) (1.09±0.129), (1.186±0.17) (1.148±0.09) 17-18.9 cm, 16.5-17.4 class size sex, respectively. Regression coefficient values (b) were 2.13 4.97 respectively, these not significantly different 3 (Isometric growth) (p>0.05) mean b 3.5 which growth positive allometric. To ensure continuity biodiversity retain species future generation, proper management techniques should be encouraged

Microcystin toxicity in a freshwater fish, Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch)
Microcystin is a toxin secreted by cyanobacteria, which are the dominant phytoplankton in eutrophic freshwater bodies. The present study reports histopathological, hematological and biochemical changes in the freshwater fish, Heteropneustes fossilis due to toxicity of microcystin. Toxic effects were observed in liver, kidney, corpuscles of Stannius, gills and gonads. Bilirubin concentration inc...
متن کاملHistopathological changes in liver of Heteropneustes fossilis exposed to cypermethrin.
Cypermethrin was administered to Heteropneustes fossilis in chronic concentration to determine lesion of liver as indicators of tissue damage. The cypermethrin dose used was 1/4 of 96 hr LC50. Histopathological changes in liver ranged from vacuolization, necrosis, fibrosis of perivascular region and disposition of yellow brown grains at different time of exposure viz; 20th, 30th, 40th and 60th ...
متن کاملDetermination of LC50 of cadmium chloride in Heteropneustes fossilis
The fish consumption has been increasing throughout the world with improved awareness among consumers and culture of fish; an important source of proteinaceous foods for human has become popular during the last few decades in entire Indian subcontinent (Kumar, 2007; Prasad and Kumar, 2007; Saxsena and Garg, 2010). In recent past there has been reports of poor quality fish with high metal conten...
متن کاملDerivation and Characterization of a ES-Like Cell Line from Indian Catfish Heteropneustes fossilis Blastulas
A cell line designated as HFB-ES was established from blastula stage embryos of H. fossilis (Singhi). The embryonic cells were harvested and maintained in Leibovitz's medium supplemented with 15% fetal bovine serum. The cell line had been subcultured for more than 90 passages in a period of 24 months. HFB-ES cells were able to grow at temperatures between 25 and 35°C with an optimum temperature...
متن کاملMicrocystin-LR: Effects on Freshwater Catfish Heteropneustes fossilis Prolactin Cells
Background: Previous studies have been reported on the toxicity of Microcystin-LR, which is produced by cyanobacterial growth in fish, such as Heteropneustes fossilis (H. fossilis). However, no studies have been conducted on the effects of Microcystin-LR on the prolactin cells of H. fossilis. Methods: H. fossilis fish were intraperitoneally injected with Microcystin-LR (2.5μg/25g) and sacrif...
